RESOLUTION NO.

WHEREAS, on January 26, 2010 a contract was awarded to Volkert & Associates, Inc. for Hurricane Katrina Infrastructure Repairs, Water, Sewer, & Drainage Lines – Area 6 Buena Vista West Phase 2 Project No. KG632, Lift Stations Project No. K7112& Special Services Project No. KG646; and

WHEREAS, submitted for approval is Amendment No. 1 to Task Order Authorization No. 2 for Volkert & Associates, Inc. to perform engineering Design Services for work not identified in the original project worksheet for the referenced area; and

WHEREAS, the additional work includes services for storm drain identified in the vicinity of Gill Avenue and Irish Hill Drive, services for the sanitary sewer alignment between Oak Grove Place and Highway 90, locate drip lines of 10 trees along Highway 90 between Hopkins boulevard and Morrison Avenue, services for the realignment of proposed sanitary sewer lines and storm drain lines that currently are located beneath a house on Azalea Drive, services for topographic survey of recent improvements on the Lighthouse Park Visitor’s Center site currently under construction, services for the topographic survey for the proposed new sanitary sewer alignment between Younghan Drive and Howard Avenue in the proximity of the Public Safety Center; and

WHEREAS, this amendment increases the fee by $13,215.00 for this additional work; and

WHEREAS, the remainder of the scope of the original Task Order remains unchanged; and

WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of Richard Sullivan, Director of Public Works, and Damon Torricelli, City Engineer, to approve Amendment No. 1 on the contract with Volkert & Associates, Inc. for Hurricane Katrina Infrastructure Repairs, Water, Sewer, & Drainage Lines – Area 6 Buena Vista West Phase 2 Project No. KG632, Lift Stations Project No. K7112& Special Services Project No. KG646.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BILOXI, MISSISSIPPI, THAT:

SECTION ONE: The findings, conclusions, and statements of fact contained in the foregoing preamble are hereby adopted, ratified, and incorporated herein.

SECTION TWO: The Mayor and/or Municipal Clerk be and are hereby authorized to accept and execute Amendment No. 1 on the contract with Volkert & Associates, Inc. for Hurricane Katrina Infrastructure Repairs, Water, Sewer, & Drainage Lines – Area 6 Buena Vista West Phase 2 Project No. KG632, Lift Stations Project No. K7112& Special Services Project No. KG646.
