RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ASSURANT GROUP

TO PROVIDE EMPLOYEES WITH DENTAL INSURANCE BENEFITS

            WHEREAS, the City of Biloxi is currently providing dental insurance benefits for City employees and their dependents through Assurant Group; and

            WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Biloxi to continue this coverage for its employees and their dependents for the term beginning October 1, 2010, and ending September 30, 2011.

            WHEREAS, dental insurance coverage for City employees will be at the rate of $27.50 per month, an increase of $4.04, and $78.50 per month for employee/dependent coverage, an increase of $11.24.

            NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF BILOXI, MISSISSIPPI, THAT:

            SECTION 1.  The Mayor and/or Municipal Clerk be and are hereby authorized to enter into and execute the necessary documents with Assurant Group to obtain dental insurance benefits for the City of Biloxi employees and their dependents.

            SECTION 2.  The Mayor and/or Municipal Clerk be and are hereby authorized to enter into and execute the necessary documents to provide dental coverage at the rate of $27.50 for employees and $78.50 for employee/family.

            SECTION 3.  The term of the dental insurance coverage with Assurant Group will begin October 1, 2010, with a rate guarantee of twelve (12) months, ending September 30, 2011.
