CITY OF BILOXI CELEBRATES JUNETEENTH

The City of Biloxi Parks and Recreation Department commemorates it annual Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday, June 23 and Sunday, June 24 beginning at 4 p.m. both days at John Henry Beck Park, 671 Division Street.

The Juneteenth Celebration, which is open to all ages with and without disabilities, features speech contests and poster contests of the meaning of Juneteenth, a parade, picnics, games, and the crowning of Mr. and Mrs. Juneteenth.

Juneteenth is a national celebration established in 1865 in Galveston, Texas to celebrate the freedom of African Americans and emphasize education, fun and unity.
