Woolmarket library branch to temporarily close

The Woolmaket Public Library branch, which has been housed for years in a small trailer, will be closing to the public Wednesday to begin its permanent move to the Woolmarket City Center.

No word yet on when the branch will open at its new location, which is at 13034 Kayleigh Cove Drive.

The move, a project led by the city and Harrison County, will allow the library more space to accommodate its growing collection and offer enhanced services and programs.

“We are very excited about starting our new chapter in our new building,” Woolmarket library branch manager Donna Posey said. “Our little trailer library has served its purpose. Now it is time for a change to meet the growing community’s needs. We are grateful to everyone who made this possible.”

The branch’s trailer has been provided through a grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Visitors who need library services during the closure can go to any other Harrison County library branch.
