Oyster Ball Drop to ring in New Year

A menagerie of Biloxi culture and history will come together to usher in the New Year on Sunday, Dec. 31 when the Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum hosts its annual Oyster Ball Drop.

Guests at the Point Cadet museum will find live music by the Blackwater Brass Band, dancing, heavy hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, party favors, and at midnight the big Oyster Ball will drop from the top of the museum.  A factory whistle also will sound to ring in the New Year, with, of course, fireworks. As guests depart, beignets and coffee will be served.

The affair begins at 8:30 p.m. and runs through 12:30 a.m.

Admission – 21 and older only – is $50 a person or $90 a couple. Call 228-435-6320 or to make reservations or to email click here.
