“Place your fish fry orders now to beat the rush,” says Biloxi Police Lt. Christopher De Back of Friday’s Special Olympics fish fry. “Orders usually pick up dramatically around the middle of the week.”
The 2017 Law Enforcement Torch Run Fish Fry, a benefit for the Mississippi Special Olympics, takes place Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the pumper hall at the Lopez-Quave Public Safety Center on Porter Avenue.
The menu includes a fish or hamburger plate with potato salad and baked beans for $8. Those interested can dine in or pick up orders by calling 228-435-6112. Delivery is available for orders of two or more plates.
“The Law Enforcement Torch Run has been a proud sponsor and fundraiser of the Special Olympics since 1981,” says De Back. “All of the proceeds raised by the Law Enforcement Torch Run go directly to the athletes, their programs and equipment. There are no administrative costs. We appreciate all of the support and donations to aid our athletes in reaching for the gold, and now we’re asking for help from the public.”
