Hiller Park to host two egg hunts Saturday

The city’s Special Needs Egg Hunt and Easter Eggstravanza takes place Saturday at Hiller Park.

The eighth annual Special Needs Egg Hunt, open to all ages with physical and mental disabilities, takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hiller Park Barbara Ferrill Softball Fields, 1940 Edgers Road. The egg hunt begins at 11 a.m. and festivities include games and lunch. 

From 2 to 4 p.m. on the softball fields, the Citywide Easter Extravaganza will take place. The event, open to ages 11 and younger, will feature an Easter Carnival with inflatables, games, and an egg hunt at 3 p.m. Refreshments will be sold with proceeds to benefit the fund to revitalize Hiller Park.

During both events, the Easter Bunny will be on site to for pictures, and volunteers will assist the children in the hunts.

Elsewhere this weekend: The Rapiscan Systems Classic wraps up at the Fallen Oak Golf Course, the Annual Home Show takes place at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum and Convention Center, the Led Zeppelin tribute band Get the Led Out will perform at the Hard Rock, and Neil Sedaka will be at the IP Casino.
