Deadline is this afternoon for State of City seats

Nearly 600 seats have been purchased for the annual State of the City luncheon next week, and the Biloxi Bay Area Chamber of Commerce is expecting another sold-out audience for the affair.

Deadline is 4 p.m. today to reserve seats for the Wednesday luncheon. Call 228-435-6149.

Meantime, Mayor Andrew “FoFo” Gilich has been applying the finishing touches on his multi-media presentation, which is expected to run just over 20 minutes.

“We’re going to give progress reports on the major initiatives we have been working on, the projects and programs designed to improve our quality of life and move our city forward,” Gilich said. “We’ll also talk about the day-to-day program of work from our various city departments and partner agencies. We’re looking forward to presenting an informative and enlightening presentation.”

Cable One will carry the presentation for its Biloxi audiences, beginning at 1 p.m. Thursday and continuing at the top of every hour through Friday at 1 p.m. A video of the presentation also will be available on the city website.
