Billfish tournament, summer fair and more this weekend

Hundreds of fisherman and their armada of million-dollar boats are at Point Cadet Marina this weekend for the annual Mississippi Gulf Coast Billfish Tournament.

With millions in cash and prizes at stake, the anglers are competing in six divisions: Catch and Release, Blue Marlin, Swordfish, Tuna, Wahoo, and Dolphinfish. Scales open from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Marina with an awards ceremony on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at the Golden Nugget. 

Also this weekend: The Annual Coast Coliseum Summer Fair is underway at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum; MGM Park will host the second annual Biloxi Chamber Craft Beer Festival; Biloxi Little Theatre will present “Into the Woods”; and over at the casinos, Happy Together Tour 2018 will be at the IP, Circovia at the Beau Rivage, and MJ Live: The Official Vegas Experience will be at the Hard Rock.

News & Notes: Shuckers; cleanup; BNews

Biloxi Shuckers: The Biloxi Shuckers return to MGM Park on Wednesday for a five game homestand with the Mississippi Braves.  The first pitch is at 6:35 p.m. and the nightly promotion is All-You-Can-Eat Wednesday where, with the purchase of a $20 ticket, fans can enjoy a Shuckers buffet featuring Papa John’s Pizza, Murky Waters BBQ, Hamburgers, Hot Dogs and more.  To visit the Shuckers website, click here
