Absentee voting at City Hall on Saturday

Biloxi City Hall will be open Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon for absentee voting for the May 2 Primary Election.

Absentee votes, which is for eligible voters who are unable to be at the polls on election day, also may be cast weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at City Hall, which is at 140 Lameuse St. City Hall also will be open next Saturday, April 29 from 8 a.m. to noon. 

“Please make sure you have an acceptable form of voter ID when voting,” said Biloxi Municipal Clerk Stacy Thacker. “This could be a driver’s license; a photo ID card issued by a branch, department, or entity of the state of Mississippi; a U.S. passport; a government employee ID card; a firearms license; a student photo ID issued by an accredited Mississippi university, college, or community/junior college; a U.S. military ID; a tribal photo ID; any other photo ID issued by any branch, department, agency or entity of the U.S. government or any state government; or a Mississippi Voter Identification Card.”

Absentee ballots also can be mailed but must be received by mail in the Municipal Clerk’s office by 5 p.m. on May 1.

Thacker also reminds voters in Ward 2B and Ward 6 about the two new polling places. Voters in Ward 2B who formerly voted at the Saenger Theater will now vote at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Municipal Building, 676 MLK Blvd. and those in Ward 6, who formerly voted at the Business Technology Center, will now vote at the tennis clubhouse at the A.J. Holloway Sports Complex, 765 Wells Drive.
