Fall Muster, Fall Festival top weekend lineup

Get ready for the cannon fire and skirmishes! Beauvoir, the Jefferson Davis Home and Presidential Library, hosts its 2017 fall muster this weekend.

Visitors will be able to experience the sights, sounds and smells of the Civil War-era Saturday and Sunday when the west Biloxi site hosts the 31st annual Fall Muster. The two-day event, taking place each day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., includes presentations, campground and battle re-enactments, and tours of the Jefferson Davis home and Presidential Library and cemetery, site of the Tomb of the Unknown Confederate Soldier. General admission to the affair ranges from $7.50 to $12.50 and is free for children six and younger.

Meantime, you’ll find Halloween at Hiller Park this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. with access to the park beginning at 4 p.m. at the west entrance off Jim Money and Atkinson roads.  The eastern entrances to the park, at Hiller Drive, will be used only for exiting the park after the event.  Admission is free and the event is open to ages 11 and younger.

Over at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, 1904 Popp’s Ferry Road, it’s the annual Fall Festival Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Activities include hay rides, face painting, cake walk, plinko, bingo, hay bowling, and more.  Festival goers may also visit the Pumpkin Patch.  Admission is free but there is a fee for tickets for the activities.

Elsewhere: Easton Corbin will be at the Hard Rock, Jake Owen at Harrah’s, and Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons and a meet and greet with Rickey Jackson will be at the Beau Rivage.  Disney on Ice: Frozen will be at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum and Convention Center and the inaugural Craft Beer Festival will be at the MGM Park.
