Thursday, Dec. 1: Lighting of the Biloxi Lighthouse

The city ushers in the Christmas season with the lighting of the Biloxi Lighthouse from 5:30 to 7 p.m., south of the Biloxi Visitors Center, 1050 Beach Blvd.Santa Clause will be on site with cookies and hot chocolate!  For more information, call the Biloxi Visitors Center at 228-374-3105.

 

Thursday, Dec. 1: Christmas on the Water Captains and Skippers Meeting

Registered and interested boat owners are invited meet, mingle and munch at the Christmas on the Water Captains and Skippers meeting.  Beginning at 6 p.m. at the Biloxi Yacht Club, 408 Beach Blvd., boat owners, captains and skippers will gather to receive parade information, registration packets and boat number for the parade.  To view the flyer, click here.  To view the registration form, click here

 

Friday, Dec. 2: Christmas on the Water Children’s Christmas Parade

The annual parade features kindergarten to third grade age children riding in hay wagons in celebration of Christmas.The parade will start at 6 p.m. at the Frank G. Gruich Center, 591 Howard Avenue, travel west on Howard Avenue, through the Vieux Marche, turn south on Reynoir, east on Jackson, south on Lameuse Street and end at the Town Green.  To see the registration form, click here.  To see the parade route, click here

 

Friday, Dec. 2: Christmas on the Town Green

Celebrate Christmas with holiday festivities on the Town Green, 710 Beach Blvd. from 6:30 to 8 p.m. This free event will feature the lighting of the Christmas Tree by Mayor Andrew “FoFo” Gilich, Santa Claus giving away goodies and hot chocolate will be available while event goers decorate the Christmas Tree. Saturday, Dec. 3: Biloxi Visitors Center Holiday Open House

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. almost 50 local artists and craftsmen will be showing and selling their wares at the Biloxi Visitors Center for the Holiday Open House. In addition to shopping, there will be refreshments, children’s activities, pictures with Santa, free tour train rides to the downtown Christmas in the City festival and much more. Saturday, Dec. 3: Christmas in the City Festival 

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Rue Magnolia and Water Street area will be filled with dozens vendors selling their specialty items.  The Biloxi Main Street-sponsored event will also feature choirs, bands and dancers, and giveaways. For more information, click here

 

Saturday, Dec. 3:  Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art Holiday Open House

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the campus of the Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art campus, you’ll find holiday crafts, face painting, story book reading, refreshments, local artists, museum store discounts, and a performance by the Mississippi Gulf Coast Messiah Chorus. The Biloxi Fire Department also will be on hand, and Santa will be available for photos with children and adults from 10 a.m. 1 p.m.  To visit the museum online, click here.

 

Saturday, Dec. 3: Christmas on the Water Boat Parade

Boats decorated in Christmas lights parade along the Mississippi Sound beginning at 6 p.m. south of the Biloxi Lighthouse and travel east, ending at Point Cadet.  The parade will be followed by a fireworks spectacular that will fill the east Biloxi sky.  Details: 228-617-3112

 

Saturday, Dec. 10: Come Learn with Santa

Children up to age five can take part in a host of holiday activities including making hand-print keepsakes, decorating ornaments, and take pictures with Santa in this free program from 10 a.m. to noon at the Lopez School, 140 St. John Avenue. To view the flyer, click here.

 

Saturday, Dec. 10: Christmas Open House

The Maritime & Seafood Industry Museum will host a Christmas Open House from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Museum.  Festivities will include cookies and hot chocolate, vendors selling maritime artwork, and a children’s Christmas musical recital from 2 to 4 p.m.  Admission is free.  For more information, call the Maritime & Seafood Industry Museum at 228-435-6230 or to view the flyer, click here

 

Wednesday, Dec. 14: Senior Luncheon

Adults age 55 and older are invited to enjoy a holiday fest with the Parks and Recreation Department from noon to 2 p.m. at the Donal Snyder Community Center, 2520 Pass Road.  Christmas music will fill the gymnasium floor and door prizes will be given away.  For more information, call the Parks and Recreation Department at 228-388-7170.

 

Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 14- 15: North Pole Calling

Santa, Mrs. Claus and their Elves will be calling children, pre-schoolers up to Grade 2, to see if they are ready for the arrival of Christmas in this free program sponsored by the city’s Parks and Recreation Department and co-sponsored by the Biloxi Fire and Police Department and the Biloxi High JROTC. Parents/guardians must complete an application, indicate specific details that only Santa would know and chose a time between 6 and 8 p.m. that your child will be available to receive a phone call.  Applications are due before Dec. 10. Friday, Dec. 16: Special Needs Christmas Dance

All ages with physical and mental disabilities are invited to celebrate Christmas with friends and family at the Donal Snyder Community Center, 2520 Pass Road, from 6-9 p.m.  Door prizes will be given away and food will be available.  Security will also be provided.  Admission is an unwrapped gift no more than $10.  To see a flyer, click here.

 

Sunday, Dec. 18: Santa Claus at the Fire Museum

“Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town” and visiting the West End Hose Co. No. 3 Fire Museum from 1 to 3 p.m.  All children are invited to spend the afternoon at the Fire Museum at 1046 Howard Avenue, talk with Santa, enjoy snacks and listen to Christmas music. Tuesday, Dec. 20: Bike Biloxi Christmas ride

Biloxi Main Street’s monthly Bike Biloxi takes on a Christmas theme this month when cyclists are asked to wear their favorite ugly Christmas sweater or jersey during the 6.5 mile ride, which is on Tuesday, Dec. 20 beginning at 6 p.m. at the Biloxi Visitors Center.  To see the flyer, click here

 

Dec. 1-31, 2016:  The Wreaths of Christmas (Les Guirlandes de Noel)

Visitors are invited tour the display of wreaths at the Maritime & Seafood Industry Museum.  The wreaths were decorated by different coast organizations, schools and business and are displayed as a celebration of Christmas.  Details: 228-7435-6320
