Municipal elections set for Tuesday
Polling places throughout the city will be open Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for voters to cast ballots for municipal officeholders.
Contested races include Wards 1, 2, 3, 5 and 7. Mayor A.J. Holloway, Councilman Mike Fitzpatrick in Ward 4 and Councilman-elect Edward “Ed” Gemmill in Ward 6 face no opposition.

City Council meets Monday evening
The Biloxi City Council on Monday will consider a measure that would create a nearly two dozen areas of land that would be zoned for hospitality related uses on U.S. 90 in west Biloxi near Brady Drive.
The council meets Monday to avoid scheduling conflicts with Tuesday’s municipal elections.

Traffic update: Workers with B&B Utility Co. were working this week to prepare to activate a new traffic signal at Lameuse Street and U.S. 90, which had been scheduled to go online June 1. Schedule now calls for the light to transfer from the flashing mode to fully operational early next week. For details on roadwork citywide, click here.
