Non-emergency city offices closed Friday
In observance of Good Friday, non-mergency city offices will be closed Friday and will re-open Monday. As such, this Weekly Briefing is being transmitted a day earlier than unsual.
Planning Commission to hear comments on LDO update
The Biloxi Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing on Thursday, April 7 to hear comments on proposed revisions to the city’s Land Development Ordinance.
The meeting will be held at 2 p.m. in the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Municipal Building.
City Council members authorized the Planning Division Staff to propose any needed revisions to the LDO text and seek public comment.

City Council sets May schedule
The Biloxi City Council has revised its May meeting schedule to avoid meeting on May 3, the day of party primaries. The council’s announced meeting schedule for May is Monday, May 2 at 6 p.m.; and Tuesday, May 17 and 24 at 1:30 p.m.

Kenny G., Paul Anka and Tracy Lawrence top the entertainment lineup this holiday weekend, and there’s Seawolves hockey action Sunday at the Coast Coliseum.

Sports complex racing to opening day
Biloxians will witness another milestone occasion next Saturday, April 2, when the Biloxi Sports Complex hosts opening ceremonies for the Biloxi Little League baseball program.
A total of 50 teams – 680 players in all – will be meeting in 25 games that will be played on the five new Little League fields at the 70-acre complex off Popp’s Ferry Road, on Richard Drive.
Contractors and city workers will be working next week to have fields ready for play and bleachers in place at the $11 million complex, which also features softball and soccer fields.
