Weekend preview: Shuckers, circus sensation and more

A five-game homestand between the Biloxi Shuckers and Birmingham Barons continues this evening and nightly through Monday at MGM Park, kicking off a weekend of diverse entertainment.

Meantime, Weird Al Yankovic performs at the Hard Rock, IP hosts Dick Fox’s Golden Boys and Anthony Cools, and the theatrical circus opus “BraVeau” continues at the Beau Rivage. On the community theater scene, Biloxi Little Theater hosts its last two summer performances of the teen show “Rebel with a Cause.”

Splish splash: Mayor Andrew “FoFo” Gilich joined other city and county leaders and residents gathered in the rain this morning to “cut the ribbon” to dedicate the new splash pad at the Popp’s Ferry Recreational Area. To see photos from the gathering, adjacent to the Margaret Sherry Library, click here.
