Voter deadlines approaching; other news and notes

Biloxi voters who will be unable to cast their ballots in the party primaries on Tuesday can vote this afternoon until 5 or Saturday between 8 a.m. and noon at Biloxi City Hall.

Saturday at noon also is the deadline to register for the general election on June 2.

Council will not meet Tuesday

The Biloxi City Council will not meet on Tuesday because of the primary elections, nor will the council meet on June 2 because of the general elections.

Meantime, the City Council clerks have announced the council’s meeting schedule for May and June.

Meetings are scheduled for May 12, 19 and 26, and June 9, 16 and 23 at 1:30 p.m. Additional meetings or workshops may be scheduled by either the mayor or council president.

All meetings are open to the public and will be held at City Hall.

News and notes

Pass Road paving: City Engineer Damon Torricelli reports that the re-surfacing of all of Pass Road in Biloxi should be complete tonight, about a month ahead of schedule, but that construction workers from Warren Paving will be doing some follow-up work next week.
