Tornado watch issued for south Mississippi

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for Biloxi and four south Mississippi counties through 7 o’clock this evening.

A warning means that conditions are favorable for the creation of a tornado or strong winds.

The warning, which also includes 13 parishes in south Louisiana, was issued as a strong upper level disturbance is expected to move through the area during the afternoon and early evening. Forecasters say strong to locally severe thunderstorms are expected throughout the area.
