The primary goal of the Biloxi Housing Authority is to provide decent, safe, sanitary and affordable housing to responsible middle-to-lower income citizens of Biloxi. The goal is to help improve the quality of life, housing and services and enhance our residents' opportunities. The BHA believes public housing is a helping hand, not a way of life.
Through unprecedented cooperation between the City of Biloxi, civic organizations, local businesses and banks, and the Board of Commissioners, the BHA has been aggressively solving housing problems in Biloxi. If the awards and honors received in the process are a sign of success, then the BHA is doing an extraordinary job!
The BHA is in the process of replacing World War II-era, barracks style housing with innovative, mixed-income communities in east Biloxi. The BHA is modernizing and improving the existing low- to moderate-income housing for approximately 1,432 public housing residents, and giving children something to say yes to with the "Claudia M.Jones Computer & Learning Center" and brand new Beatrice Brown Community Center. |
