Annual Events & Programs

Mardi Gras Ball and Dance

The Mardi Gras Ball and Dance is held in January or February of each year from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Biloxi Community Center .
The event is open to all children ages 6 to 12, with and without disabilities, and their parents. A King, Queen, Grand Duke, and Duchess are crowned by random drawing of names. The King and Queen reigns over the Children’s Walking Parade on which is held on the following Saturday. Refreshments are available and security is provided during the event. Admission is free. All children must be picked up from the Center by 8 p.m.

Sweetheart Ball and Dance

The Sweetheart Ball and Dance is held on February 14 of each year from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Biloxi Community Center .
The Sweethearts Ball and Dance is open to children ages 6 to 12, with and without disabilities, and their parents. A King, Queen, Grand Duke, and Duchess are crowned by random drawing of names.
Refreshments are available and a local DJ emcees the event.  Security is also provided. Admission is free. All children must be picked up from the Center by 8 p.m.

 

St. Patrick’s Dance

The St. Patrick’s Dance is held in March on the Friday before St. Patrick’s Day.  The dance is held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Donal Snyder Community Center.
The St. Patrick’s Dance is open to children ages 11 to 14, with and without disabilities, and their parents.  Admission is free and refreshments are available.  A local DJ also emcees the event.  Security is provided throughout the dance and all children must be picked up from the Center by 8 p.m.

City Wide Easter Egg Hunt

The City Wide Easter Egg Hunt is held on a Saturday in March of each year at the Woolmarket football fields, located behind to the North Woolmarket School, 16237 Old Woolmarket Road.
The Egg Hunt begins at 10 a.m. and is open to all children ages 5 to 12, with and without disabilities, and their parents.  Admission is free and children should bring their own baskets for treats and prizes.  Parents are not allowed on the hunting fields during the hunt.  Volunteers will assist the children.

 

Bunny Day Egg Hunt

The Bunny Day Egg Hunt is held on the last Saturday in March of each year at the Town Green, 710 Beach Blvd.
The Bunny Day Egg Hunt begins at 10 a.m. and is open to all children ages 3 to 12, with and without disabilities, and their parents.  Admission is free and Easter bags are available for children to put treats and prizes in.  Parents are not allowed on the hunting fields during the hunt.  Volunteers will assist the children.

End of School Pool Party

The End of School Pool Party is held at the end of the Biloxi Public Systems school year. The Dance is held at the Biloxi Natatorium and is open to children ages 6 to 12, with and without disabilities, and their parents. Refreshments are available and door prizes will be given out.  A local DJ also emcees the event.  Admission is free and security is provided throughout the dance. All children must be picked up from the Center by 8 p.m.

 

Start Smart Program

The Start Smart Program is offered at different dates throughout the year. Session are for day for six consecutive weeks. This program helps to prepare children for organized sports using Koosh products which are safe and fun. Through this program, children learn the basic skills of baseball, soccer and basketball.
The program is open to children ages 3 - 6 and must be accompanied by a parent or adult. The program is open to the first 20 registrants. Participation is free to City of Biloxi residents and $20 for non-Biloxi residents.

Annual Juneteenth Celebration

The City of Biloxi Parks and Recreation Department celebrates Juneteenth every year for all ages with and without disabilities.   
Juneteenth, a national celebration established in 1865 in Galveston, Texas, celebrates the freedom of African Americans and emphasizes education, fun and unity. To commemorate this event, the Parks and Recreation Department holds an annual celebration which features speech contests and poster contests of the meaning of Juneteenth, a parade, picnics, games, and the crowning of Mr. and Mrs. Juneteenth.

 

Back to School Luau

The Back to School Luaue is held at the beginning of the Biloxi Public School Systems school year.  The Dance is held at the Biloxi Natatorium and is open to children ages 6 to 12, with and without disabilities, and their parents. Refreshments are available and door prizes will be given out.  A local DJ also emcees the event.  Admission is free and security is provided throughout the dance. All children must be picked up from the Center by 8 p.m.

Halloween on the Green

Halloween on the Green is held every October from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the Biloxi Town Green, 710 Beach Blvd. The event is open to for infants to children five years of age, with and without disabilities and their parents. Space walks are set up and carnival games, treats, prizes, and a costume contest are conducted.   First, second, and third place prizes will be given to age groups 0 – 2 and 3 – 5.  Refreshments are provided.

 

Halloween at Hiller Park

Halloween at Hiller Park: Halloween at Hiller Park, is held every year in October from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Barbara Ferriel Softball Fields.
The event is open to children ages 3 to 12 years of age, with and without disabilities and their parents.
Space walks will be set up and carnival games will be conducted between 5:30 p.m. 6:30 p.m.  Contest games begin at 6:30 p.m.  The games include the Egg Hunt for ages 3 to 5 year olds, Pin the Nose on the Pumpkin for ages 6 to 8 year olds, Broom Stick Race for ages 9 to 10 year olds and Pumpkin Race for 11 to 12 year olds.  A costume contest will begin at 7 p.m.  First, second, and third place prizes will be given to age groups 3 -5, 6-8, 9-10, and 11-12.  Hot dogs, chips, and punch will be provided.

Thanksgiving Dance

The Thanksgiving Dance is held in November each year from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Donal Snyder Community Center. The Dance is open to children ages 6 to 12 years old with and without disabilities and their parents.  Admission is a canned good item which will be donated to the Salvation Army to help them during the holiday season.  Security is provided during the dance and refreshments are available for a minimal fee.  All children must be picked up from the Center by 8 p.m.

Christmas at Eagle Point

Christmas at Eagle Point is held in December of every year from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Eagle Point Fire Station, 9370 Oaklawn Road.
The celebration includes decorating the Christmas tree while enjoying hot chocolate and cookies.  Santa Claus will be present for the children to see and he will be giving away goodies.  The celebration concludes with the lighting of the Christmas tree.  Christmas at Eagle Point is open to the public and security will be provided.

Christmas at Beck Park is held in December of every year from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the John Henry Beck Park, 671 Division Street.
The celebration includes decorating the Christmas tree while enjoying hot chocolate and cookies.  Santa Claus will be present for the children to see and he will be giving away goodies.  The celebration concludes with the lighting of the Christmas tree. Christmas at Beck Park is open to the public and security will be provided.


North Pole Calling

The North Pole Calling is held in December of every year and available for pre-school, kindergarten, first and second grade children to speak directly to Santa Claus and his elves.  To become involved, interested parents will need to fill out a form stating what your child wants for Christmas and additional information that only Santa Claus can reveal.  Phone calls will then be made by Jolly Ole Saint Nick and his helpers to the children at selected times provided on the form.  The forms will be available in December at the Hiller Park office, 380 Hiller Drive, between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and on the City of Biloxi’s website, www.biloxi.ms.us
This is a City of Biloxi’s Parks and Recreation Department program which is co-sponsored by many local organizations.

The Dance is open to children ages 6 to 12 years old with and without disabilities and their parents.  Admission is a canned good item which will be donated to the Salvation Army to help them during the holiday season.  Security is provided during the dance and refreshments are available for a minimal fee. All children must be picked up from the Center by 8 p.m.
