Debris removal in city harbors, marina

As of July 27, 2007, more than 90 percent of the submerged debris and destroyed piers had been removed from the Biloxi Small Craft Harbor and adjoining Commercial Harbor, and Point Cadet Marina. Port Division Manager Frankie Duggan said dredging and construction at the Small Craft Harbor was expected to begin by the end of August. Initial construction is underway at Point Cadet Marina, where the Isle of Capri is installing piers two piers that will accommodate a dozen 40- to 60-foot vessels. Design work and FEMA approvals are pending on further construction at other city waterfront facilities.
