Museum hosts ‘Cup of Joe’ Thursday morning

Visitors to the Maritime and Seafood Industry on Thursday morning will be able to hear personal recollections of the life and times of Joe Moran when two of his daughters, Mary and Beverly, host “Cup of Joe,” part of the Point Cadet museum’s retrospective of the famed Biloxi artist.

The session begins at 9 a.m. in the museum’s Point Cadet Seafood Kitchen, where coffee and hot buttered French bread will be served.  Admission is $10 per person. Reservations: 228-435-6320.

“He was an amazing man,” artist Mary Moran says of her late father. “Everyone who met him liked him. There was one man who said that when he first moved here everyone mentioned Joe Moran this or Joe Moran that, and he was so sick of hearing about Joe Moran, until  one day he met him. He said, ‘Wow he was everything they said about him.”
