Inquisitive Wall doing well after surgery

Ward 5 Councilman Tom Wall, who underwent 4½ hours of surgery Tuesday to remove a tumor from his liver, had one question when he came out of the operating room at Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans: What was going on back in Biloxi?

“He wanted to know what happened at the Planning Commission meeting on the Tivoli,” his son Bob said with a chuckle, adding. “He came out of the surgery very well. The surgeon said he did an excellent job. They removed a little over half of his liver, but it was an operable and curable situation.”

The four-term councilmember from West Biloxi was moved from intensive care to his hospital room today and could be out of the hospital in five to 10 days. His son, however, wondered if that would be the case: “He was asking for his shoes and pants, like to go walking.”

Added the younger Wall: “On behalf of Tom and Arlene Wall, Bob and Jeff, we say a special thanks to everyone for their support and prayers.”
