The Hibernia Marching Society St. Patrick’s parade, which takes place on Saturday, March 12, has a slightly different route this year, limiting its time on U.S. 90.
The procession still begins at the Biloxi Yacht Club, but travels west toward downtown on Howard Avenue instead of U.S. 90. From Howard the parade turns south on Main, west on U.S. 90, north on Lameuse, west on MLK before turning west on Howard, north on Caillavet and ending on Esters Boulevard, near Reynoir.

Celebrating history and culture: The Mississippi Coast Historical & Genealogical Society will commemorate the coast’s history and culture at the Gulf Coast Historical and Cultural Exposition on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Biloxi Visitors Center. Admission is free and the event is co-sponsored by the City of Biloxi. To see the flyer, click here.
City Council agenda: Only three policy measures are on the agenda for Tuesday’s City Council meeting: individual water meters for new apartments and condominiums, consent for upcoming military training, and promotional items for the Biloxi Fire Department. Honoring police and fire: Tommy Moffett, the city’s first African-American police chief, will be honored at the upcoming Black History Program. The event, hosted by the City of Biloxi and the Biloxi NAACP, will take place Thursday, Feb. 25 at the Biloxi Civic Center beginning at 6 p.m. and will pay tribute to all Biloxi African-American police officers and firefighters. To see the flyer, click here.
