Gilich to update issues Wednesday morning

Mayor Andrew “FoFo” Gilich will discuss the pending temporary paving on roadways in east Biloxi and a host of the projects during the Biloxi Chamber’s “Breakfast with the Mayor” session on Wednesday at 8 a.m. at the IP Casino Resort Spa.

The free program, which will be in the IP ballroom, is designed to give chamber members and guests a chance to hear firsthand reports from the mayor, and to ask questions at the end of his presentation.

Besides the temporary paving of major thoroughfares in the construction zone in east Biloxi, scheduled to begin this week, Gilich is also expected to address the proposed adjustment in slip rental fees at the Biloxi Small Craft Harbor and Point Cadet Marina, and progress on two on-going initiatives, the new main entrance for Keesler Air Force Base and the Coastwide ultra high-speed internet initiative.

“This is the first ‘Breakfast with the Mayor’ this year,” said Chief Administrative Officer David Nichols. “Of course, Mayor Gilich covered a great deal of ground in the ‘State of the City’ address several weeks ago, but these breakfasts are special occasions, when he speaks off the cuff and with his usual high level of passion. This is a great event for people to get timely information and ask questions.”
