Foreigner concert will have Biloxi flavor

The rock group Foreigner has a bevy of Top 10 songs to its credit – “Jukebox Hero,” “Hot Blooded,” “Feels Like the First Time,” “Waiting for a Girl Like You,” “Cold as Ice,” to name a few – but one song will have a special appeal to local audiences during the group’s show at the Hard Rock this evening.

When Foreigner launches into its anthem “I Want to Know What Love Is” this evening at the Hard Rock, the group will be backed by Biloxi High School’s award-winning show choir.

The episode is one of several musical events taking place this weekend. You’ll find concerts by Johnny Mathis at the Beau Rivage and Uncle Kracker at IP, and there’s the 21st annual Hoopsfest at the Coast Coliseum.

Webcasting: Let’s be careful out there

Motorists in east Biloxi need to remember that the speed limit is 15 mph in a construction zone – and that nearly every street in east Biloxi is a construction zone these days.

That’s the word from Tony Morrow with Oscar Renda Contracting, the firm performing the massive infrastructure project that covers from I-110 to Point Cadet.

Morrow provides a status report in this week’s City Desk webcast.
