April 2014 turned out to be another promising month for permitting and economic development in Biloxi.
For the month, we issued 265 building permits for a total construction valuation of $7.5 million. We are continuing to review the building plans for phase one of the baseball stadium. Building plans for seven houses for the new Rock Creek Subdivision were submitted this week.
Also this week the Association of State Floodplain Managers of Mississippi held its annual conference in Biloxi at the Hard Rock Casino. During the conference our own Kristen Greger was presented with the Community Rating System Coordinator of the Year Award. Congratulations to Kristen. She has been instrumental in the City of Biloxi achieving a rating of 5. Biloxi is one of only three cities in the state to achieve this admirable rating.
