CTA announces holiday schedule; other news and notes

Coast Transit Authority has announced the following holiday schedule for public transporation in Biloxi and the surrounding area:

Christmas Eve: Route 24 will not run, and all other routes will end service at 7 p.m. The CTA office will close at 3 p.m.

— Christmas Day: No bus service, and CTA office closed

— New Year’s Eve: Buses run on regular scheduile; administrative office observes regular hours.

— New Year’s Day: Sunday bus schedule observed; administrative office closed.

News and notes

School break: Biloxi Public Schools will have early dismissal Friday to begin the Christmas break. School resumes Jan. 5.

City holiday schedule: Non-emergency municipal offices in Biloxi will be closed Dec. 24, 25 and 26 for the Christmas holidays and Jan. 1 and 2 for New Year’s.

Notices of award: The city has formally notified two contractors that they have been chosen for upcoming city projects. L.J. Construction has been awarded a $766,843 contract for sewer improvements in the Eagle Point community, and Mandal’s has been awarded a $169,241 contract for replacement of the roof at the West Biloxi Library on Pass Road. Contractors have 10 days to return signed agreements to the city.
