Council meets twice this afternoon

The Biloxi City Council will meet twice this afternoon, at 1:30 to consider an agenda of more than two dozen items before convening a special meeting to hear a report from the Coast Transit Authority on its services and potential services in Biloxi.

Both meetings will be at City Hall and are open to the public.

The 1:30 p.m. agenda features two planning issues, both involving re-zoning land for proposed subdivisions, and measures concerning the city’s ongoing infrastructure work.

The CTA presentation, which will begin immediately after the 1:30 p.m. meeting, is a follow-up to the public transit’s agency receiving an additional $65,000 in last week’s council meeting.

Said Biloxi Chief Administrative Officer David Nichols: “The leaders of Coast Transit are going to give the City Council an update on the services they provide in Biloxi, but, more importantly, let councilmembers know what additional federal funds would be available for expanded services, if CTA had a match in local funding.”
