                         RESOLUTION TO RENAME A PORTION OF HIGHWAY 67

AS “SHRINER BOULEVARD”

            WHEREAS, the Mississippi Department of Transportation has redesigned and relocated portions of  Highway 67 both within the City of Biloxi and rural Harrison County; and,

            WHEREAS, as a result of the redesign and relocation of portions of said highway there is some duplication of street names, thereby causing problems and potential delays for emergency response personnel; and,

            WHEREAS, the name suggested and recommended by the Biloxi Planning Commission is “Shriner Boulevard”;

            NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BILOXI, MISSISSIPPI, AS FOLLOWS:

            The portion of Highway 67 which runs from Interstate Highway 10 at the Woolmarket Exit (Exit 41), north to the city limits of the City of Biloxi is hereby renamed as “Shriner Boulevard”.  The Clerk of Council is directed to send a certified copy of this resolution to the Harrison County Board of Supervisors to notify them of the re-naming of this road.
