City to create master plan for Woolmarket utilities

The City of Biloxi this week begins advertising for engineers to design drainage plans for a section of East Woolmarket Road, but, more importantly says, Mayor Andrew “FoFo” Gilich, the city is also advertising for qualified engineers to work on a master plan for utilities and infrastructure in the Woolmarket and Eagle Point areas.

Proposals from engineering firms are due to City Hall by 10 a.m. on Dec. 30.

“What we’re looking to do is service the needs of the citizens of this area and to meet the commitments for drainage, water and sewer that the city made when it annexed this area,” said Gilich, who has met with a group of Woolmarket residents each week since he took office 204 days ago. “We want to make sure that they enjoy the same overall quality of life that all Biloxians enjoy.”
