City of Biloxi hosts two NFL Pepsi Punt, Pass & Kick Competitions – October 2010

Local youth football fans will have the opportunity to display their football skills when the Parks and Recreation Department hosts two of its annual NFL Pepsi Punt, Pass & Kick competition on Saturday, October 16 beginning at 9 a.m. One will be at the Woolmarket Fields located at 16237 Old Woolmarket Road and the other will be at the Biloxi Sports Complex located at 765 C Wells Drive.

The competitions are free and open to boys and girls ages 8 – 15. Entry forms are available from the Hiller Park office, located at 380 Hiller Drive, beginning on Monday, October 4 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. and continuing weekdays. Late registration will be held Saturday, October 16 from 8 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. at the Woolmarket fields and at the Sports Complex Soccer fields. Parents must sign a liability form and participants are required to wear regular tennis/sport shoes, no cleats.

The NFL Pepsi Punt, Pass & Kick football competition allows youngsters to showcase their talents in punting, passing, and kicking with scores based on distance and accuracy. Age classification is as of December 31 of the current year and a birth certificate is required.

The top finishers from each age group at the local competitions will advance to a sectional competition. The winners at the sectional competition will have their scores compared with other sectional champions; the top five scorers from the pool of sectional champions advance to the NFL competition.
