Local youth football fans will have the opportunity to display their football skills when the Parks and Recreation Department hosts its annual NFL Pepsi Punt, Pass & Kick competition on Saturday, October 3 at beginning at 9 a.m. at the Woolmarket Fields, 16237 Old Woolmarket Road.
The competition is free and open to boys and girls ages 8 – 15. Entry forms are available from the Hiller Park office, located at 380 Hiller Drive, beginning on Monday, September 21between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. and continuing weekdays. Late registration will be held Saturday, October 3 from 8 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. at the Woolmarket Fields. Parents must sign a liability form and participants are required to war regular tennis/sport shoes, no cleats.
The NFL Pepsi Punt, Pass & Kick football competition allows youngsters to showcase their talents in punting, passing, and kicking with scores based on distance and accuracy. Age classification is as of December 31 of the current year and a birth certificate is required.
The top finishers from each age group at the local competitions will advance to a sectional competition. The winners at the sectional competition will have their scores compared with other sectional champions; the top five scorers from the pool of sectional champions advance to the NFL competition.
