Arbor Day Health Run/Walk/Roll to be held at the Biloxi Town Green – 02/26/2011

The 23rd Annual Arbor Day 5K and 1 mile health run/walk/roll will be held on Saturday, February 26 at the Biloxi Town Green, located across from the Hard Rock Casino.

The 5K run will begin at 9 a.m. and the 1 mile health run/walk/roll and ¼ mile ability challenge will begin at 9:45 a.m. A team meeting for all those participating in the ¼ mile ability challenge will be held at 9:30 a.m. prior to the 1 mile run. Participants of the races will receive a t-shirt and the first 300 runners will receive a tree in honor of Arbor Day. Trophies will be given out to overall male and female as well as to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place age group males and females. All wheelchair participants will receive a trophy as well as the first three boys and girls in the 1 mile run. Medallions will be given to individuals with disabilities that participate in the run.

The 23rd Annual Arbor Day 5K and 1 mile health run/walk/roll is sponsored by the City of Biloxi, the Gulf Coast Running Club, and Disability Connection.

The Arbor Day Run/Walk/Roll is a charity event. Donations will be accepted which will benefit an Internet Resource Center, Events and Special Projects for People with Disabilities.
